Gorillaz who have just won BEST GROUP at the BRIT Awards, have today announced that De La Soul, Little Simz and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble join the line-up outdoor at Malahide Castle on Saturday 9th June at their biggest Irish show to date

Hitting Dublin this summer, The Humanz Tour will see Murdoc Niccals (bass), Noodle (guitar), Russel Hobbs (drums) and 2D (vocals) joined on stage by the Gorillaz live band – Damon Albarn, Gabriel Wallace, Mike Smith, Jesse Hackett, Jeff Wootton, Karl Vanden Bossche and Seye Adelekan  – along with selected performers from the roll-call of Gorillaz’ family of featured artists.

Their new album Humanz – “… an inspired party album for a world gone mad” (The Guardian) – released last year made #1 in the U.S. and #2 in the Irish and U.K. charts and topped the iTunes charts in more than 60 countries worldwide.

Hip hop trio, De La Soul came together in 1987 in New York. They have collaborated with Gorillaz on various tracks including “Feel Good Inc” and “Momentz”.  The group are known for eclectic sampling, quirky lyrics and their contributions to the evolution of jazz rap and alternative hip-hop subgenres.

With two albums under her belt, London rapper Little Simz joins the line up at Malahide Castle, Dublin this summer. She has received praise from the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Jay Z and her latest album, Stillness in Wonderland is a mix of soul, R&B and grime. Little Simz has also featured on Gorillaz album Humanz on the track “Garage Palace”.

The 8 piece Chicago-based Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is an ensemble made up of eight sons of the jazz trumpeter Phil Cohran, whose musical style ranges from hip-hop to jazz and funk including calypso and gypsy music.
