Unmissable Irish Music Festivals in June

It's officially festival season now, here's our pick of some of the best that June has to offer.

June means days getting longer and the weather finally starting to look up (hopefully), it also means festival season is finally here after a long awaited two year break!

So grab your wellies, sun cream and tent and see what festivals June has to offer.

Forbidden Fruit

The first big festival of the summer takes place over the June Bank Holiday weekend in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin. The two day non camping festival features massive international acts such as Lorde, Hot Chip and Peggy Gou as well as some unmissable upcoming Irish acts including Kynsy, Sophie Doyle Ryder and Sprints. Live at the Marquee

Heading south now for Live at the Marquee. Not strictly a music festival, but there is something for all tastes from Riverdance to Simply Red, Tom Jones to Pet Shop Boys, Deadmau5 to Christy Moore and many more. Cork, June

Live at Botanic Gardens

What says summer more than a beautiful garden? How about live gigs in a stunning Botanic Garden? This range of shows once again has something for everyone with The Classical, The National, The Specials, James Blunt and more. Belfast, 2-12 June

Sea Sessions

Looking to stay active during a festival? How about Sea Sessions, Ireland’s only Surf and Music Festival. Not only can you catch acts such as Tinie Tempah, Kodaline and Basement Jaxx and watch Ireland’s biggest surf competition, you can check out Skating, BMX, Graffiti and Beach Sports across the weekend. Donegal, 17 – 19 June

Higher Vision

Electronic and dance festival Higher Vision may only be one day but it packs a punch with a line up featuring deadmau5, Belters Only and Dax J in Navan Racecourse. Meath, 18 June

Kaleidoscope

Festival fun for all ages at Ireland’s leading family focused music and arts festival. The three day carnival of colour will keep both youngsters and parents entertained with something for everyone including Feeder, James Morrison and Dec Pierce’s Block Rockin Beats serving up feel good tunes on the main stage, art installations and activities to keep everyone entertained. Wicklow, 24 – 26 June
