Private Peaceful is a timely reminder of the heroic sacrifices that were made by those involved in World War 1. The story charts the life of a young soldier, Tommo Peaceful. The play highlights the dreadful horrors of war while celebrating the joyfulness of life, both which are clearly bound together in this not-to-be-missed, magnificent one-man theatre production. Shane’s own great grandfather was in WWI. The Gaiety Theatre are remembering those Irish soldiers in the war by inviting people to send in photos of members of their families who took part in WWI.
