The Vodafone Comedy Festival 2016

The Vodafone Comedy Festival celebrates it’s 10th year in the stunning Iveagh Gardens this Thursday 28 to Sunday 31 July..

There will be 46 amazing shows across the weekend featuring over 80 acts performing in 5 fully seated venues as well as a colourful array of street performers and musicians performing all over the magical gardens. There will also be a delicious choice of food including Street Food BBQ, Kerala Kitchen, a Chocolate Fountain, coffee and snacks and a wide selection of drinks at our bars.

The festival features top home grown talent from Des Bishop, Jason Byrne, Maeve Higgins, David O’Doherty, Foil Arms & Hog, Dierdre O’Kane, The Nualas among many others.

The Vodafone Comedy festival has hosted many amazing US comics over the years including Louis CK, Reggie Watts, John Mulaney, Natasha Leggero, Nick Kroll, Maria Bamford, Tig Notaro, Neil Hamburger, Emo Phillips and this year sees the biggest number of US acts ever to appear at an Irish comedy festival.

Comedy is thriving in the US with the current ‘Second Comedy Boom’ and we have an amazing selection of acts including the sensational Bill Burr who is sold out and Podcast stars Jake & Amir who are also sold out.

Joe DeRosa (Better Call Saul), Dan Soder (Billions, Inside Amy Schumer), Sasheer Zamata (SNL & ACLU’s Celebrity Ambassador for Women’s Rights), Chris Gethard (Broad City, The Chris Gethard Show), Annie Lederman (MTV’s Girl Code) and Rory Scovel who recently finished shooting the feature film The House alongside Will Ferrell & Amy Poehler. We also have Kate Berlant (Netflix Presents: The Characters) as well as Leonard Ouzts, Jay Larson, Ian Edwards, Liza Treyger and of course our very own adopted son’s Aidan Bishop, who will host The International Comedy Club, and Des Bishop who is returning from New York to perform at this year’s festival.

As well as the massive American team coming into town we have an amazing line up of International acts. Canadian festival favourites Stewart Francis & Tom Stade return for our 10th celebrations along with UK acts Milton Jones, Sara Pascoe, John Robins, Fin Taylor and the wonderful Adam Buxton.

We also have Aussies Sammy J & Randy and Felicity Ward as well as hilarious French bon vivant Marcel Lucont..
