BGET are bringing an array of terrific theatre shows to Dublin in 2026

After a show-stopping 2025, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre isn’t running out of gas any time soon. The curtain is set to rise on another blockbuster year with a bumper lineup of hit musicals, gripping plays, laugh-out-loud comedies, and stunning dance shows touching down in the heart of Dublin. Whether you’re a theatre buff or just on the hunt for a great night out, this upcoming season has something for everyone to enjoy.


The Talented Mr. Ripley

Patricia Highsmith’s seductive thriller takes the stage.

A familiar Hollywood hit is making the leap from screen to stage with the riveting psychological thriller, The Talented Mr. Ripley, set for a limited run. The audience will be transported from Dublin to New York to Venice and drawn deep into the dark and dangerous world of Tom Ripley and Dickie Greenleaf.

Star of The Crown, Ed McVey, plays the cunning Tom Ripley with Eastenders regular and Strictly finalist Maisie Adams starring alongside him as Marge. This new stage show will be at the theatre from 10 to 14 March 2026.

The Ballad Of Johnny & June The Musical

Walk the line between the heartbreak and harmony of country music’s first family.

Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys) and developed in collaboration with the Cash family, this powerful musical takes audiences on an emotional journey through the passion, heartbreak, and enduring love of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Told through the eyes of their son, John, it offers a profoundly personal look at the trials, tribulations, and triumphs that defined one of music’s most legendary couples.

Including timeless hits such as I Walk the LineRing of FireHey Porter, Jackson, I’ve Been Everywhere and more. Experience it at the theatre from 31 March – 11 April 2026.

Les Ballets De Trockadero de Monte Carlo

BGET Season - The Trocks
Ballet mixed with belly laughs. The perfect combination.

Laughing hysterically at the ballet is usually something that’s frowned upon, but not at The Trocks. In fact, it’s highly encouraged! Combining high art with hilarity, the all-male comedy ballet Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo delivers equal doses of jaw-dropping technique and jaw-aching laughs. The production pirouettes into the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on 30 April & 1 May 2026.

Fawlty Towers

The bumbling Basil is back with a bang!

Regarded by many as the greatest British sitcom ever, Fawlty Towers has been wonderfully reimagined for the stage by none other than the original Basil Fawlty himself, John Cleese. Following on from a record-breaking West-End run, this side-splitting production checks in at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from 28 July until 1 August 2026.

Fans can look forward to Basil, Sybil, Polly, Manuel and more of their favourite characters bringing all of the iconic moments from the classic comedy to life in true Fawlty Towers fashion – endlessly chaotic and fantastically funny.

Legally Blonde The Musical

Elle Woods is headed to Harvard – are you coming?

Legally Blonde The Musical is bringing the endorphins (endorphins make you happy, in case you didn’t know!) to Dublin from 7 – 18 July 2026. Based on one of Hollywood’s most beloved rom-coms, this feel-good favourite stars Strictly’s Amber Davies (Pretty Woman, 9 to 5 The Musical) as the inspiring Elle Woods. The iconic West End and Broadway smash hit comes from the creative team that brought you Kinky Boots; it would be almost illegal to miss it!

* Amber Davies will not be performing at the matinee performance on Thursday 16 July at 2.30pm.

The Last Laugh

What happens when Britain’s greatest comedy brains get together?

This hilariously poignant play imagines a meeting between British comedy heavyweights, Tommy Cooper, Bob Monkhouse, and Eric Morecambe, as they share their thoughts on life, death, and, most importantly, comedy.

Get ready to laugh until you cry and maybe shed a few real tears too when this remarkable production comes to town. Featuring Damian Williams as Cooper, Simon Cartwright as Monkhouse, and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Steve Royle as Morecambe. The Last Laugh comes to the theatre from 21 – 25 July 2026.

BGET Season - Mean Girls
North Shore High School lands in Dublin this August.

Get in, loser, we’re going to the theatre! Mean Girls is the hilarious smash-hit musical comedy from an award-winning creative team including writer Tina Fey (30 Rock), composer Jeff Richmond (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon).

BGET Season - Swan Lake
The timeless classic with a Latin twist.

The esteemed Ballet De Santiago of Chile graces the stage by Dublin’s Grand Canal, with their rendition of the legendary Swan Lake. Backed by Tchaikovsky’s stunning score and guided by the artistry of internationally renowned director César Morales, this is the traditional ballet with a South American spin. This breathtaking take on the evergreen masterpiece soars into Dublin from 18 – 23 August 2026.

Mrs. Doubtfire

BGET Season - Mrs Doubtfire
The much-loved movie gets a fabulous makeover.

Help is on the way, dear! Based on the universally loved film starring Robin Williams, Mrs. Doubtfire says “Helloooo!” to Dublin from 2 December 2026 until 3 January 2027. Featuring all of the unforgettable moments from the movie, along with the addition of some marvelous musical numbers. The show stars the acclaimed Gabriel Vick in a dazzling double act, frantically swapping between Daniel and the show-stealing Euphegenia. This show really is a blessing in disguise.
