Review: Olly Murs at 3Arena, Sunday 12 April

The flirtatious and Cheeky Essex-boy Olly Murs returned to Dublin to play at the 3Arena as part of his ‘Never Been Better’ tour earlier this month.

On Sunday night (12 April) I attended the third night of Olly’s three nights at the 3Arena, Dublin.

Doors opened at 6:30pm but the crowd failed to turn up that early, it was closer to 8pm before the arena filled up.

The first support act of the night was Louis Walsh’s new boy band HomeTown, followed by 21-year old British singer songwriter Ella Eyre.

Hometown proved they have strong vocals but it was clear to see that they need more time to build up a loyal fan base.

Ella Eyre had great energy on stage and I look forward to seeing more from her in the future.

Both Support acts did well in warming the crowd up and Ella Eyre returned to joined Olly on stage later in the night to duet on his single ‘Up’ which features Demi Lovato on his latest album.

Excited and energetic Olly Murs then took to the stage just after 8pm. His set-list included both singles and album tracks from across all four of his albums.  Olly made sure that the entire crowd were on their feet dancing on numerous occasions throughout the night and I have to admit it was nearly impossible to stay seated for the show with the energy he had created in the arena!

Olly proved on the night that he isn’t just a singer, he’s also a performer.

In the middle of the show he slowed the pace down with a medley of of his hit singles ‘Thinking of Me’, ‘Busy’ and ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go’. There was lots of song variation throughout the night.

The crowd got super excited when Olly hinted his likely return to this years X Factor as a presenter.

He ended with a two song encore. I have to say I really enjoyed the concert and the entire crowd seemed to have lots and lots of fun from the reaction of those around me.
