One of the all-time greats from the golden-age of musicals, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s THE KING AND I waltzes its way back to Dublin from 21 May – 1 June 2019. Buy Tickets
Other musical favourites making a welcome return are DIRTY DANCING from 24 – 29 June 2019 and smash hit musical, THE BODYGUARD starring the sensational Alexandra Burke* from 07 – 17 August 2019. Buy Tickets
The Irish Premiere of multi Olivier award -winning KINKY BOOTS With a book by Broadway legend winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles), and songs by Grammy® and Tony® winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper which will run from 19 – 31 August 2019. Buy Tickets
Next autumn will see the iconic CABARET return to the stage from 01- 5 October 2019 followed by new production of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT from 08 – 12 October 2019. Buy Tickets
Rounding off a wonderful year of musical theatre will be Queen and Ben Elton’s WE WILL ROCK YOU from 28 October- 2 November 2019. Buy Tickets
These titles join the previously announced Irish premiere of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL running for three weeks in February. Buy Tickets
Also announced were two sensational dance productions: MARK MORRIS’S PEPPERLAND an exuberant new work which runs for two nights from 30 April – 1 May 2019 as well as ST PETERSBURG BALLET THEATRE’S SWAN LAKE from 22 October – 26 October 2019. Buy Tickets
Other previously announced high-lights for the year ahead include MATTHEW BOURNE’S ground-breaking production of SWAN LAKE in February 2019.
There are concerts with world-class artists JOHN GRANT, ALFIE BOE, KATHERINE JENKINS, TOMMY FLEMING, CHRIS DE BURGH, ALED JONES & RUSSELL WATSON AND DAVID GRAY , and IRISH NATIONAL OPERA’S MADAMA BUTTERFLY runs for one week only in March.

Remarking on the exciting year ahead, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre’s General Manager Stephen Faloon commented “I am beyond excited at the great line-up of events we have in store for 2019, which is set to be our biggest and best year to date, along with the 9 shows announced, we have an incredible line-up which will cater for all, two big shows to look out for are Motown the Musical and the return of War Horse but keep an eye out for some more cracking shows still be announced!
Bord Gáis Theatre highlights to date include West End and Broadway smash hits Jersey Boys, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dirty Dancing, Chicago, Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, Phantom of the Opera, Sister Act, War Horse, Wicked, Disney’s The Lion King and the European premiere of Elf, The Musical to the staging of the 1916 Centenary celebration, as well as the World premiere of Angelas Ashes and the Irish premières of multi-award winning West- End spectaculars, Billy Elliot and The Commitments.
