Little May, who recently played the Great Escape Festival, and who are included in this year’s Electric Picnic line up, will play their own headline show at the Academy 2 this Wednesday, 27 May! They will be joined by special guests LORIS! Limited tickets are available here.
From breathlessly impressed reviews of their live shows to the international websites already clamoring for news of Little May, the Sydney three-piece have already carved out a name for themselves, with their haunting and harmonic brand of folk and intricate lyricism. Consisting of Liz Drummond, Hannah Field and Annie Hamilton, the Sydney based, self-taught band formed in high school over a shared love of playing music. Since their first release ‘Boardwalks’ in Australia last year, Little May have acquired over a million Soundcloud plays, been added to high rotation on Australia’sTriple J and topped the ‘Hype Machine Chart’ twice with both their sophomore singles, ‘HIDE’, and the newly released ‘DUST’, as well as the community radio charts in Australia.
Listen to ‘HIDE‘ below:
‘DUST’, the first single from the EP, perfectly embodies what Little May are becoming so widely respected for – vulnerable and honest lyrics with an undercurrent of otherworldly darkness. Challenging the listener to hear past the otherwise beautifully constructed song, ‘DUST’ has a depth that may not be apparent on first listen but will stay with you long after the dust settles.
