SOJA, previously known as ‘Soldiers of Jah Army’, create unique music that incorporates a mix of reggae, go-go, D.C. hardcore, Latin, rock and hip-hop.
Jacob Hemphill, the lead vocalist and guitarist for the group, describes the philosophy behind their music:
“Our goal as a band is to stick up for the human race. We see the world and we try to make it better in the limited time we have here.”
Their new album, which was released at the end of 2014, is titled ‘Amid The Noise And Haste’ and features many collaborations with artists such as Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Anuhea, JBoog, Nahko and Mala Rodriguez. The album was produced by SupaDups who has also worked with artists such as Bruno Mars, Eminem, Rihanna and John Legend.
SOJA has sold more than 200,000 albums, headlined shows in over 20 countries around the world, generated nearly 4 million Facebook fans, and over 90 million YouTube views.
