Ryan McMullan is a rare jewel in the crown of popular music. With a voice that’s one of the finest to come out of Ireland, Ryan has been commanding the attention of a rapidly growing fan base and attracting the attention of established artists alike.
From: Portaferry, a small seaside town in Northern Ireland.
Style: His stage performance is raw and gritty, but full of heart. Ryan’s storytelling within the songs are filled with rich and varied tones and his youth clearly does not deter from his ability to communicate life stories and emotion.
If you like: Picture This, Plested, Dermot Kennedy, David Keenan, The Coronas, Hermitage Green.
Listen to… his recently released album ‘Ruthless Cupid’.
The Ruthless Cupid EP is an all-out attack on the most famous matchmaker of all time, Cupid. Ryan explains the theme of single ‘In A Heartbeat’ saying, ‘It was written to sum up a stage I think we all kind of go through sooner or later: the understanding that something that once was, is now no more. But even at the end knowing it still has a hold on you, so much so, that no matter how toxic it is, or how little sense it made, you’d still run back to it in a desperate attempt to salvage it.’
