According to Björk, this is her “most elaborate stage concert yet, where the acoustic and digital will shake hands, encouraged by a bespoke team of collaborators. Cornucopia is probably as expansive as I will get … an effort to find an equilibrium between all areas.”

Cornucopia is digital theatre crafted around Björk’s most recent album ‘Utopia’. The show is created and produced by Björk, with music co-produced by Arca, and the staging directed by film director Lucrecia Martel. The digital visuals are by media artist Tobias Gremmler, co-creative direction from James Merry and a stage design by Chiara Stephenson. Also performing on stage are the Icelandic flute septet Viibra, harpist Katie Buckley, with percussion from Manu Delago.

Electronics and a number of bespoke instruments are also implemented in the innovative surround-sound stage design. Cornucopia boasts a 360 sound system that “immerses fans in a sensory techno-acoustic utopia, underscored by a poignant socio-political message about the need for environmental action” – Dazed.

During the show, Björk will perform a number of songs from inside a specially-built reverb chamber made with acousticians Arup which will allow her to sing live with customised natural acoustics.

Balmain and Iris Van Herpen are the designers behind the couture costumes worn by the cast of Cornucopia.
