A Stellar Cast Announced for The Cripple Of Inishmaan
Cast details have been announced for the Gaiety’s major new production of Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple of Inishmaan. Opens 25 January 2019.
The Cripple of Inishmaan will be directed by Andrew Flynn who recently directed the hugely successful production of McDonagh’s A Skull in Connemara, and has a long association with his work including The Pillowman presented at the Gaiety in 2017. The exciting creative team will include Owen MacCarthaigh (Set Design), Sinead Cuthbert (Costume Design), Ciaran Bagnall (Lighting Design) and Carl Kennedy (Sound Design).
The stellar cast was announced as:
Catherine Walsh (Dancing at Lughnasa, Playboy of the Western World) as Kate and Norma Sheahan (Moone Boy, Bridget & Eamon) as Eileen
Rosaleen Linehan (The Red Shoes, The Dead, David Copperfield, Woyzeck in Winter) as Mammy and Phelim Drew (Once, The Plough and the Stars) as Johnnypatteenmike
Jamie Lee O’Donnell (Michelle in Derry Girls, Girls and Dolls) as Slippy Helen and Ruairi Heading (Borstal boy, Haughey Gregory) as Cripple Billy
Ian O’Reilly (Padraic in Moone Boy) as Bartley
Sean Fox (Taken Down) as Babbybobby
and John Olohan (King of the Castle, Father Ted, Glenroe) as Doctor.
The Cripple Of Inishmaan opens at Gaiety Theatre Dublin from 25 January 2019 for a limited run. Tickets are on sale now.
