A Pilot Festival – Ireland’s first festival in 16 months
Live music is back! Ireland’s first music festival in almost 16 months takes place at Royal Hospital Kilmainham this July.

An all star line-up
The pilot festival, organised by IMMA & MCD productions will happen in front of a 3,500 capacity crowd on Saturday 3 July 2021. It has been confirmed that the pilot event will feature some of Ireland’s hottest artists including Gavin James, Lyra, Denise Chaila, Wild Youth, Sharon Shannon & Wyvern Lingo performing full sets. The show will also be MC’d by The 2 Johnnies, making it a fitting return to live entertainment.
The return of live music
Speaking today, Catherine Martin T.D., Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media said: “I am delighted to announce this music festival hosted by IMMA at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, the first such event in almost 16 months. The RHK is an iconic venue for live music and this marks a significant step forward towards larger gigs in the coming months, subject to the public health situation.”
“The purpose of these events is to build the road back to the safe and full recovery of live performances and sporting events and establish confidence in the guidance and event management protocols developed for the sector. The use of antigen tests is to help consider the logistics of them as a means of gaining entry to live events as the sector reopens.”

- To facilitate contact tracing if necessary, each attendee is to have their event ticket on their own mobile device. As the Lead booker of these tickets you are required to use the Transfer Feature in “My Account” to transfer tickets to each member of your group. This must be done by close of business on Wednesday 30 June.
- This pilot Festival is strictly over 18s.
- A negative rapid antigen test will be required as a means of entry to the event ( Even if you are fully vaccinated) Full Testing location information will be sent directly to all customers via email.
- Ticket holders must attend the dedicated Antigen test centre for the event at Collins Barracks in Dublin between 4pm and 9pm on Friday July 2nd or 8am and 4pm on Saturday July 3rd where a medical professional will administer the FREE rapid antigen test.
- In order to keep everyone safe the Government of Ireland advises customers to not attend the festival event if they have any symptoms of Covid-19 (www.hse.ie). In this scenario, tickets will be fully refundable. Otherwise, we look forward to welcoming you the festival.
- As this is a pilot festival personal data may be shared by event organisers with Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media for research purposes.

Control & safety measures
Organisers have implemented a range of control measures to ensure the protection and safety of performing artists, staff, and customers. Directed by Government guidelines, these measures include:
staggered access times, clear and visible signage, socially distanced queuing systems, readily available hygiene stations in convenient locations, enhanced cleaning regimes, easily accessible toilet facilities, the creation of socially distanced seated and standing Pods for attendees and the wearing of masks when outside your Pod.
It is critical that these measures are strictly followed by those attending this event. Such guidelines are subject to change.
