Get ready for a scintillating summer of sport.

The weather’s starting to heat up, and the same can be said for the Irish sporting calendar. Whether it’s GAA, soccer, American football, equestrian or ice hockey you’re into, we’ve surely got something to scratch your sports itch. Check out our pick of the sports happening this summer below.


GAA – Provincial Championships, Tailteann Cup & All-Ireland Senior Championship

The GAA fixture list is stacked going into the summer months.

The GAA season is already in full swing with provincial fixtures taking place up and down the country. There’s no sign of things cooling down this summer with the Tailteann Cup and the All Ireland competitions on the horizon.


Northern Ireland WNT v Poland

Northern Ireland are on a quest for top spot in the standings.

Women’s international football is back at Belfast’s Seaview Stadium on 30 May 2025. A Northern Irish victory against table-toppers Poland would take Tanya Oxtby’s side level on points at the summit of Group 1 before heading into the final matchday.


Republic Of Ireland WNT v Slovenia

Republic Of Ireland and Slovenia meet in a top-of-the-table encounter.

The girls in green welcome high-flying Slovenia to Cork’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh in a UEFA Women’s Nations League contest on 3 June 2025. Depending on the result of matchday 5, the clash in Cork could decide who comes out on top of the Group 2 standings. Ireland’s defence will need to be at its best to keep the prolific Zara Kramzar under wraps. The Como striker has netted 4 goals in her 4 outings this campaign.


Republic Of Ireland v Senegal

The Republic Of Ireland are aiming for a third win on the bounce.

Heimir Hallgrímsson’s men will look to pick up where they left off in the last international break when Senegal come to town. The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations winners are currently on an impressive 12-game unbeaten run, keeping 10 clean sheets along the way. Will the boys in green be able to tame the lions of Teranga? The sides meet at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin on Friday 6 June.


Hospice Hockey

Expect thrilling on-ice action, live entertainment, and plenty of surprises.

Looking to get out of the heat? What better place than the ice? The Odyssey Trust will host ‘Hospice Hockey’ at The SSE Arena, Belfast on Saturday 7 June 2025. Inspired by the likes of Soccer Aid, the special fundraising ice hockey game will feature current and former ice hockey players, local legends, and celebrities. The event aims to raise as much money as possible for Northern Ireland Hospice in support of the charity’s invaluable services.


Adam Keefe Testimonial

Fans, teammates, and ice hockey enthusiasts alike will gather to pay tribute to Keefe’s legacy.

A special one-of-a-kind game will take place at The SSE Arena, Belfast on Sunday 8 June 2025 to celebrate Adam Keefe’s remarkable contributions, both on and off the ice, as a player, captain, and head coach, marking over a decade of dedication to the Giants.


Celtic v Cork City

Celtic are set to play in front of legions of Irish fans in Cork.

The Bhoys make a much-anticipated return to Ireland with a pre-season game against Cork City on 8 July. The Hoops and The Rebel Army will clash in Cork as part of the newly announced, inaugural Cork Super Cup. The contest will be only the third-ever soccer match hosted at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.


RDS Dublin Horse Show

The esteemed event celebrates its 150th year in 2025.

The Dublin Horse Show gallops back into the RDS from 6 – 10 August 2025. Throughout the duration, the iconic RDS showgrounds will be taken over by the best horses from across the globe. Over 160 national & international equestrian competitions take place across the 5 days including the prestigious Nations Cup of Ireland for the Aga Khan Trophy.


Aer Lingus College Football Classic

Familiar foes face off at the Aviva.

One of the annual highlights of the Irish sports schedule, the Aer Lingus College Football Classic makes a triumphant return to Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on 23 August. Old rivals, Kansas State and Iowa State, will come face to face on Irish soil, marking the tenth college football game ever played in Dublin.
