How to protect yourself against ticketing scams

Tips on how to avoid counterfeits and how to stay safe when buying tickets

One thing is for sure – you can never be too safe when it comes to where you’re buying tickets from. We’ve put together a few tips on how to protect yourself from ticketing scams.

Only buy tickets from official sources. With any event, official ticketing agent/s or the venue is the best place to buy tickets from. Check out the artist’s own website, as the official ticket source/s will always be listed there.

Avoid buying tickets from individuals on social media or other unofficial platforms.

Do not purchase tickets before a tour has gone on sale. These will not be legitimate tickets (this does not include things like official presales).

Always double-check your URL. When buying tickets with us, make sure you’re visiting Ticketmaster.ie or are using the official Ticketmaster mobile app. Beware of clicking through to sites from Google search results that may ‘look’ like Ticketmaster.

Be wary of printed tickets. Scammers can distribute copies of the same ticket to multiple buyers. Most of our tickets are mobile, with the majority also powered by unique barcodes that refresh every 15 seconds to help prevent theft or copies, keeping your tickets safe and secure.

You can always reach out to us via Ticketmaster.ie or the Ticketmaster app with any questions, we’re here to help.
