You voted Coldplay’s sold-out show at Croke Park last summer as Ireland’s Ticket of the Year 2017.  The same show was voted the best show of the last 20 years.

We polled fans to discover the most popular live events in Ireland in 2017 and to celebrate our 20th anniversary in Ireland we asked you to nominate the best you’ve been to in the last 20 years.

Coldplay’s “A Headful of Dreams” tour concert at Croke Park came out on top voted as the best live entertainment event, beating off stiff competition from Electric Picnic in Stradbally in second place and Guns N’ Roses at Slane Castle who took third spot.

Dublin again proved to be the most popular city for great events in 2017, with eight shows featuring in the Top Ten followed by Belfast.

Some of the world’s biggest rock and pop acts dominate the Top Ten most popular acts, with U2, Ed Sheeran and both Robbie Williams and Take That making the list for 2017.

Two festivals, Electric Picnic and Longitude, also feature in the Top Ten, and although the list is dominated by music acts, Miss Saigon at Bord Gais Energy Theatre also features in Ireland’s Ticket of the Year rundown.

Looking ahead to next year, singer songwriter Ed Sheeran has been named as the most anticipated event for 2018. Ed’s Irish leg of the ‘÷’ world tour has fans excited already as they count down to what promises to be a series of unforgettable concerts. Other shows fans said in the poll they would most like to see play in Ireland for 2018 include P!NK, Coldplay and U2.
