From the cradle of classical ballet, Moscow City Ballet celebrates the Russian tradition in spectacular style with its Tchaikovsky Trilogy coming to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin this February 2020.

Tchaikovsky is the undisputed Tsar of ballet; his sweeping scores have the power to transport audiences from delight to despair, each composition a masterpiece perfectly complementing the dancers and narrative, especially when performed by a full orchestra.

The original Petipa – Ivanov choreography incorporates the distinctive composition of the late Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, a precious legacy upheld by the new generation of principal dancers, adding a youthful exuberance to these renowned ballets.

Moscow City Ballet celebrates the classical Russian tradition in spectacular style.

Swan Lake is a signature piece of Moscow City Ballet’s repertoire. The choreography, interpretation and stand-out virtuoso performances win consistently rave reviews. The epic story of Prince Siegfried and his doomed love for Odette, Queen of the Swans, is magnificently brought to life in all its original splendour by Tchaikovsky’s hauntingly familiar score.

The Sleeping Beauty

The enchanting and romantic story of The Sleeping Beauty inspired Tchaikovsky to write some of his most glorious music, and the ballet has captivated audiences for well over a century. Featuring the delicate Princess Aurora, her gallant Prince, wicked Carabosse, the beautiful Lilac Fairy and a host of fairy-tale characters, this truly magical production showcases the company’s exquisite dramatic and lyrical talents.
