A Barrel of Laughs: Eight Of The Best Comedy Gigs Happening In Dublin In 2015
If you enjoyed the Vodafone Comedy Festival, you will be delighted to know that there are lots of comedy and stand-up shows coming to Dublin over the next few months! We’ve compiled a list of eight hilarious comedians that will be performing at various Dublin venues in 2015:
1. Kevin Bridges
Kevin has starred on many TV shows including ‘Would I lie To You?’, ‘Have I Got News For You’ and ‘Live At The Apollo’. He took part in the ‘Edinburgh Fringe Festival’ in 2008 and has also appeared on ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’. Kevin brings his show ‘A Whole Different Story…’ to The Olympia Theatre 23-28 November.

2. Dara O’Briain
Dara has hosted popular TV programmes ‘Mock The Week’ and ‘The Apprentice: You’re Fired!’. He has performed across the UK and Ireland and has attracted an extensive fanbase. In 2010 he was voted 16th Greatest Stand-Up Comic on Channel 4’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups. Dara brings his 2015 tour, ‘Crowd Tickler’ to Vicar Street 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 & 12 September.

3. Dylan Moran
Dylan is an Irish comedian, writer, actor and film maker. He appeared with Father Ted’s Ardal O’Hanlon and Tommy Tiernan in ‘The Three Fellas’. He also starred in various films including ‘Notting Hill’, ‘Shaun of The Dead’ and ‘Run Fatboy Run’. Dylan was voted 14th Greatest Stand-Up Comic on Channel 4’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups. Dylan brings his tour ‘Off The Hook’ to Vicar Street 23 September – 1st October.

4. Bill Bailey
Bill is a comedian, musician and actor. He starred on eleven series of popular TV show ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’ and also featured in the movie ‘Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang’. He was voted 7th Greatest Stand-Up Comic on Channel 4’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups in 2007 and 2010. Bill brings his ‘Limboland’ tour to The Olympia Theatre 1-3 October.

5. Pat Shortt
Pat is famous for his role as Tom in popular sitcom ‘Father Ted’. He also starred in TV series ‘Moone Boy’. He had a hit song, with hilarious lyrics, in Ireland called ‘The Jumbo Breakfast Roll’! Pat brings his ‘Selfie’ tour to Vicar Street 9 & 10 October.

6. Michael McIntyre
Michael has appeared on the panel of popular comedy TV shows including ‘Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night’, ‘Mock The Week’, ‘8 Out Of 10 Cats’ and ‘Have I Got News For You’. He appeared as a judge on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in 2011. In 2010 he was the youngest ever host of the ‘Royal Variety Performance’. In 2012 his TV show, ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’ won ‘Best Entertainment Show’ at the National Television Awards. Michael brings his ‘Happy and Glorious’ tour to 3Arena on 6 & 7 November.

7. Jimmy Carr
Jimmy hosted Channel 4’s ‘8 Out Of 10 Cats’ and ‘The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year’. He appeared as a guest on popular BBC motoring show ‘Top Gear’, where The Stig referred to him as “the worst driver we’ve ever had” and “the luckiest man alive”! He won the LAFTA Award for ‘Best Stand-up’ in 2008. Jimmy brings his ‘Funny Business’ tour to The Olympia Theatre on 11 & 12 December.

8. Mrs. Brown’s Boys
Brendan O’Carroll plays the role of Mrs. Brown. Mrs. Brown’s Boys has received very high viewership on TV, with ratings of one episode beating those of RTE’s ‘The Late Late Show’. In 2012 Mrs. Brown’s Boys won an IFTA for ‘Best Entertainment Programme’. Mrs. Browns’ Boys D’Movie was released in 2014 and another movie is in the works. Mrs. Brown’s Boys is coming to the 3Arena 15-19 December.
