Watch: Interview with Michael Bradley & Paul McLoone from The Undertones

The Undertones was originally made up of a group of five friends from Derry – John O Neill, his younger brother Damian O’ Neill, Feargal Sharkey, Billy Doherty and Michael Bradley. They became famous for hits such as ‘Jimmy Jimmy’, ‘My Perfect Cousin’ and ‘Here Comes The Summer’. They split in 1983, when Feargal Sharkey left to pursue a solo career, however they got back together in 1999 and Paul McLoone replaced Sharkey. The band then released a new album called ‘Get What You Need’ which was critically acclaimed by Rolling Stone magazine, Q magazine, Uncut, and Hot Press. The band have experienced a lot of success since. They have performed a string of successful shows around Europe and the UK in 2015.

To celebrate their 40th anniversary, The Undertones have announced that they will play shows in both Dublin and Belfast in May 2016.
