Watch Wilko Johnson confront death in new documentary

Dr Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson is the subject of a new documentary film “The Ecstasy of Wilko Johnson“.

The Ecstasy of Wilko Johnson” confronts our worst nightmares of awaiting death and turns them upside down.

The documentary tells the extraordinary story of legendary musician Wilko Johnson who was diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer in late 2012 and given only a few months to live, managed to accept his fate with uplifting positivity and confront the death sentence handed down to him. Despite the doctors’ worst predictions he continued to perform and embarked on a farewell tour.

But like every good story Wilko’s has a twist. Wilko Johnson revealed in October 2014 that he had been ‘cured of cancer‘.

The documentary only features two voices in the entire film: Johnson’s and The Who’s frontman Roger Daltrey.
Roger Daltrey made the album “Going Back Home” with Wilko Johnson in 2013, when Wilko thought he would die.
