Fontaines D.C. announce huge Slane Castle show
Off the back of headline sets at Reading Festival, Leeds Festival and Electric Picnic over the past weekend, Fontaines D.C. have announced their biggest Irish headline show ever at Slane Castle, Co. Meath on Saturday 26 June 2027.
The band teased the announcement at the end of their set on Sunday night at Electric Picnic, having already confirmed dates for an upcoming tour earlier in the week.
The show will also see Hayley Williams, Damien Dempsey and Madra Salach joining Fontaines D.C. as special guests.
Slane Castle
The band, consisting of Grian Chatten, Carlos O’Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan and Tom Coll, become the latest name to headline the iconic County Meath venue, following the recent two nights played by American country star Luke Combs, and put themselves among the likes of Oasis, Madonna, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones.
Not only marking themselves in the company of these greats, Fontaines D.C. will become only the third ever Irish act to headline at Slane Castle, following U2 and Thin Lizzy.
Dopamine Chamber
The news follows the recent announcement of Fontaines D.C.’s fifth studio album Dopamine Chamber, which will be released on 16 October. The album has been preceded by the lead single ‘Marianne’, which dropped earlier in August. Speaking on the album, Chatten says “the album itself is a dopamine chamber. You step inside and we test these different mind – or mood-altering pieces of music on you.“
2026 Tour
Posting on their social media accounts on Friday, Fontaines D.C. revealed an extensive list of European tour dates, with confirmed shows in Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, Bologna, Belgrade, Prague, Łódź, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Paris. The tour will commence in October and run until the end of November.
Not content with that sightseeing trip, the list continued with six UK dates also confirmed, seeing the Dublin group play in Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham before bringing the tour to a close with a show in London.
This announcement also teased Irish fans with upcoming news, which they did not have to wait long to receive.
