Family Events happening over Halloween

The evenings are getting darker and we're getting into a Halloween spirit. Are you looking for a festive day out with the family? Or possibly somewhere to take the kids over Midterm Break? If so, we've got plenty of events that will be a treat for the whole family. Check out the great things on this Samhain.

Hurloween at the GAA Museum

Croke Park | Dublin | 29 – 31 October 2024

Journey on down to the home of the GAA where instead of ghouls, they’ll be talking goals on special ‘Hurloween’ tours! Tours include a visit to Croke Park dressing rooms, a walk pitchside as well as a ‘Warriors and Hurlers Workshop’. Here, younger visitors will learn more about the story of Setanta, a master hurler who used his sliotar and camán to slay the hound of Chulainn and receive the new name Cú Chulainn!

Everyone on tour will have a chance to visit the GAA Museum and Interactive Games Zone. Every child on tour will receive a book telling the story of Setanta and other Irish legends – the perfect Halloween treat!

The Pumpkin Express

Dare to board the Haunted Ghost Train for a frightful journey through eerie landscapes, and brace yourselves for truly terrifying surprises along the way. Oakfield Park transforms into a spine-chilling nightmare this Halloween! Featuring a Sinister Pumpkin Patch, Trick or Treat, Creepy Craft Corner and even the chance to win a hair-raising prize in the Best Spooktacular Costume Contest, there’s something here for all the family!

For younger visitors attending, it is recommend to attend between 3-5pm, when the atmosphere is a little less ghostly.

Púca Festival

An iconic festival celebrating Ireland as the origin of Samhain and Halloween where visitors can experience spectacle and storytelling, music and mischief, comedy, feasting & much more, Púca Halloween Festival returns this year. The line-up for this year includes Bell X1, The High Kings, Dermot Whelan, Panti Bliss, Mary Coughlan, Deirdre O’Kane, Neil Delamere and many more!

Developed by Fáilte Ireland in partnership with Meath County Council, Púca celebrates Ireland as the birthplace of Halloween with an authentic, immersive, and otherworldly festival.

Joe’s Farm Pumpkin Picking

Every year visito’s to Joe’s Farm come for a pumpkin picking experience where they can take a scenic walk on the grounds of the farm and enjoy picking vegetables. Bring the family and learn all about farming and pick your very own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to take home.

Remember to dress for the occasion! You’re visiting a farm where you might get mucky so don’t forget your wellies!

Hocus Pocus Spooktacular

The Witches are back as the Hocus Pocus Spooktacular makes its grand return! Get transported into the classic film as you join the Sanderson Sisters for a thrilling evening. The night will also include a visit from the legendary Wednesday Addams, along with her eerie entourage of special guests!

Over the Top Wrestling Presents “Aftermath 2”

A special Halloween themed event full of storylines, heroes and villains and of course some of the best independent wrestling you can find.

An unpredictable mix of sport and entertainment, where the atmosphere is as much a part of the experience as the action in the ring.

Ratoath Pumpkin Farm

Just outside Dublin in County Meath lies Ratoath Pumpkin Farm. Go pumpkin picking and select from 11 different varieties, along with other activities and plenty of photo opportunities. Don’t forget to say hello to the farm animals while you’re there!

Under 2’s go free and free parking is also available.
