Live stream gigs: Our guide to a couch concert

With live performances put on hold in the midst of social distancing, a number of stars have decided to perform from their home so you can enjoy from the comfort of yours! Check out our list of live stream gigs below.

As the world comes together by staying apart, a whole host of artists have decided to perform live stream gigs for their fans, showing that music can bring people together even when they are far apart.

Craig David | 08 May | 8pm

Craig David performs a global livestream concert of ‘Born To Do It’ on Saturday 08 May 2021 at 8pm. Still holding the record as the fastest selling debut album by a British Male Solo act in UK Chart history, it will be the first time that Craig’s performed the critically acclaimed album in full, live with full band and in the original running order of the tracklisting. The show will also feature a Classic UK Garage set from DJ Spoony.

 

Tate McRae | 08 May | 8pm

A one of a kind virtual concert event in celebration of Tate’s new EP “Too Young to Be Sad”. This globally streamed concert will feature Tate’s full band and dancers while she performs all the songs from Too Young to Be Sad as well as old fan favorites with stunning visual production.

Madness | 14 May | 8:30pm

A one-time-only global livestream show, concocted by Madness and scripted by Charlie Higson, “The Get Up!” features live music, classic Madness songs, new Madness songs, comedy, some very, very special guests, and even Mike Barson playing the part of HRH Queen Elizabeth II!!

Filmed at the world-famous London Palladium, this one-off, multi-camera event sees Madness usher the good times back in the only way they know how, putting on a bloomin’ good show that promises to be a joyous, definitive “arrivederci” to the lockdown era.

 

Razorlight | 02 June | 8pm

This is it, the news fans have been waiting for: after a 10-year hiatus, the original Razorlight line-up are reuniting. Johnny Borrell, Andy Burrows, Björn Ågren, and Carl Dalemo are set for a full-throttle celebratory gig, performing their most iconic releases.

Ash | 05 June | 7:45pm

On Saturday 5th June 2021 at 8pm BST, join Tim Wheeler, Mark Hamilton, and Rick McMurray as their play ‘1977’ from start to finish, in a global online concert, exclusively on stabal.com. This concert is also available as a Deluxe 30 Day On-Demand Pass. Enjoy the concert as Ash perform it, and as many times as you want afterward, with exclusive access to bonus content.

UB40 Featuring Ali & Astro | 16 June | 8pm

The band’s very first online concert will see them performing UB40’s seminal 1980 album ‘Signing Off’ in its entirety. Filmed at Stabal Studios on the outskirts of London, Ali and Astro will be accompanied by their incredible eight-piece touring band.

Gary Numan | 17 June | 7:45pm

Cultural super icon Gary Numan is all set to release his brand new album ‘Intruder’, and succeeding this will play an explosive global online concert experience, where fans can see and hear the songs played live for the first time.

Chris Martin

With each member of Coldplay currently stuck in a different country from one another, front-man Chris Martin decided on giving fan’s a real treat with a solo performance from home lasting nearly 30 minutes including all of Coldplay’s most popular hits. He labelled the mini gig as #TogetherAtHome in the hope of other artist’s following suit.

John Legend

After Chris Martin threw down the gauntlet, R&B crooner John Legend decided to put on a home concert of his own with a helping hand from his wife Chrissy Teigen. He starts off with a wonderful rendition of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Love’s in need of love today’ before performing a slew of his own hits. He leaves a message on the video challenging both Charlie Puth and Miguel to continue the #TogetherAtHome series.

Charlie Puth

Not afraid of a challenge, Charlie Puth responded to John Legend in quick time and kept the #TogetherAtHome movement rolling, displaying his vocal talents from his parents house in front of a picturesque backdrop. He encourages the practice of social distancing but says “why not have some fun and listen to some music while your doing that”, a message we can all get behind.

Niall Horan

Fresh off the back of his sophomore album release ‘Heartbreak Weather’, Niall Horan performed an acoustic home gig for his fans on Instagram live. He begins by saying “its more than a gig” raising awareness and stressing the importance of self isolation before breaking into ‘This Town’.

Submitting to John Legend’s request, R&B ace Miguel jumped on the #TogetherAtHome train and showed off his silky vocals and guitar playing skills for his fans.

Pop Rock veterans One Republic put on a virtual concert at home to tide their fans over, playing their biggest singles including Counting Stars and the Timbaland produced Apologize.

Bruce Springsteen

‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen has tried to make social distancing a little easier for his fans by sharing his electric set at London’s Hyde Park in 2009. It’s now available to stream in it’s entirety for the first time!

Norweigan star Ane Brun has shared her live set from 2018 at the Oslo Spektrum Arena to tie her fans over, performing a number of covers mainly from her album ‘Leave Me Breathless’.

Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard continue’s the trend of performing at home and is even going one step further by making it a daily event. He’s stated that “For the next few weeks I will be playing songs everyday from my home studio”, so subscribe to his Youtube channel for more upcoming content.
